With our HVAC apprentice program, you’ll learn valuable skills and receive important industry certifications to help advance your career.
What is an HVAC apprenticeship?
An HVAC apprenticeship is a structured program combining classroom instruction with hands-on training. You’ll assist senior technicians with installations, repairs, and diagnostics to help you learn as you go. Upon completing the program, students will receive industry certifications, including EPA 608 and NATE certifications.

Career path for HVAC apprentices
Most students who complete their HVAC apprentice training become licensed HVAC technicians after 18 months (3,000 hours), although it could take several years. Career path for plumbing apprentices
To become a licensed journeyman or master plumber, you must have a GED or high school diploma, join our apprenticeship program, complete the required on-the-job training hours, pass the journeyman exam, acquire your North Carolina plumbing license, and gain additional work experience. You must take the master plumber exam to receive the highest certification level.
Completing our plumber apprenticeship program, including accumulating job hours and passing the licensing exam, is estimated to take two to five years. Career growth opportunities include service and installation positions and plumbing business ownership.
